Ok well I've had Dexter for a while now and I was told he was about 7 months old but I'm not sure. I can't remember whether he had his bald spot yet or not but I think he got it soon after I got him but he could have already had it. When do they usually get the bald spot/scent gland? Do they ever lose it at a certain age? Is there another way to determine his age? Please help me I would really like to know. Thank you.

I've heard they get their bald spots anywhere between 5-7 months. I could definitely be wrong though. I'm sure somebody will come in here and give you more accurate, for sure info.

Meanwhile, no, they do not lose their bald spots. The only way for this to happen is to have them neutered, and, from my understanding, sometimes it doesn't go away 100%

One of my boys had a bald spot at 16 weeks and some get them much later..even closer to a year in some cases. I'm not really sure how you would go about determining the age though.

depends on whether they get neutered or not. After neutering the bald spot dissipates.

Lol yeah I don't think I'll be trying that but thanks for the help. So it's likely that he really was 7 months when I got him?
