Wow, they have all kinds of exotics. Someone asked her if a chinchilla and a glider would get along. She tells people that gliders bond well with most other animals. Awesome.

Is it true you only feed pellets?

- It'd be easier to reply here for everyone to see than to speak to one person and have them have to reply everything, I think.

No it is not. I do keep a pellet in their cage all day. It is Happy Glider, made by Pet Pro Products. I addition to that I feed Vegetables once a night, fruit 3 times a week and yogurt once a week. I am USDA licensed and my diet has been approved by the USDA and my attending veterinarian Dr. Tim Reichard.

This was your only reply "Even Keel Exotics <- I feed my gliders a pellet from Pet Pro Products. All the info for it is on the left"

So they only get pellets, veggies sometimes, fruit sometimes.. and yogurt? x-x;;

They get vegetables every night. Fruit every other day and yogurt. This is a proper diet for sugar gliders and widely used

Um... no it's not. Yogurt should be fed sparingly and fruits AND veggies should be fed every night. Plus there should be a source of protein as well. And pellets are nothing but garbage. We don't need new members coming in here thinking the diet you feed is decent in any way.

Or that suggesting chinchillas/sugar gliders can co-habitate..

Also while being licensed is good, it doesn't always mean great. PPP is licensed too, and look at their methods.. ): I hate when people state that they're licensed like it's all the proof they need. X_X

It is illegal to sell a Sugar Glider without a USDA licensed. Unfortunately, as you can see from the classified, many people do not get licensed and have no one to answer to.

No it is not illegal. It is illegal to have more than so many suggies and sell them if not licensed. I just got our USDA packet and read through it quite throughly, so I'm pretty well aware of the laws.

See from what classified? And no, they don't have 'no one' to answer to, many people who aren't licensed, like myself, hold themselves to MUCH HIGHER standards than the USDA requires. Not the bare minimum cage, not crappy diets, and we generally only breed with lineage, as well. Do you have lineages on any of your suggies?

Zak, can I ask you how long you have owned gliders?

I will tell you now, I have a good belt of glidery knowledge. I will also tell you right now, that what you are feeding them will eventually lead to their death. Just like us, they need proteins, calcium and fiber. Offering pellets, veggies and fruit alone (with the yogurt) will not be good for them in the long run.

If you wish to continue that diet, maybe look into Priscilla's. I feed her diet and it's a little like what you feed. Her diet also has the option of offering pellets, so you don't HAVE to boot those to the curb (though I do suggest using the ones from Exotic Nutrition). You can use the recipe she has up now, or try the old one out, to see if your guys like it. I still use it, I just make four smaller batches, varying the fruits and veggies.

thepetglider.com is her website

If you're interested in the old recipe, I will link you. Even without her vitamins, on a trial, it would be better than what you are feeding now. :)

If you own 3 or more females you need a USDA license and if you sell a sugar glider you need a USDA license. There is no way around it

I didn't say there was a way around it.

I also did say USDA doesn't hold any high standards, look what you're feeding.. ): How big are your cages? Do your suggies have wheels?

No, this is not accurate.

If you have more than 3 females *in a breeding situation* then you need a USDA license. The license is not required if you sell gliders. If you only have one breeding pair, and you sell their joeys, you do not need a license - nor can you even obtain one. The USDA simply will not give you one! Even if you apply!

Because gliders are colony animals, and the males are not used as studs (by any reputable breeder) then females placed in a colony with neutered males are not counted as "breeding females" by the USDA. So - you can have many many gliders, neutered males and females, and only one breeding pair and still not qualify for a USDA license.

Maybe if you could focus long enough to reply.

DO you have lineages on ANY of them?

I don't need to come to MI to see that.

Also at what age do you sell the joeys?

Also something called a camera can save me a plane ticket, generally. But you're not answering much I ask so I doubt that'd happen.

Why did you post here if you only pick and choose what you care to reply to? It's a waste of your time and ours.

The very simple solution is - neuter all your males and don't breed!

No problems!

Having a USDA license does not mean quality anything. Look at all the sugar glider, dog and cat mills that are all USDA licensed. Its a piece of paper.

Zak...if you truly care about these animal, you will correct the information on your site. There are many things on there that are misleading to knew owners and potentially dangerous or deadly to the gliders they purchase from you.
