evenkeelexotics BANNED 17 Posts My name is Zak. I am the owner of Even Keel Exotics. Feel free to give me a call and ask me any questions about the care of my gliders. 419-202-1903 evenkeelexotics BANNED 17 Posts No it is not. I do keep a pellet in their cage all day. It is Happy Glider, made by Pet Pro Products. I addition to that I feed Vegetables once a night, fruit 3 times a week and yogurt once a week. I am USDA licensed and my diet has been approved by the USDA and my attending veterinarian Dr. Tim Reichard. evenkeelexotics BANNED 17 Posts They get vegetables every night. Fruit every other day and yogurt. This is a proper diet for sugar gliders and widely used evenkeelexotics BANNED 17 Posts It is illegal to sell a Sugar Glider without a USDA licensed. Unfortunately, as you can see from the classified, many people do not get licensed and have no one to answer to. It is illegal to have more than so many suggies and sell them if not licensed. I just got our USDA packet and read through it quite throughly, so I'm pretty well aware of the laws. See from what classified? And no, they don't have 'no one' to answer to, many people who aren't licensed, like myself, hold themselves to MUCH HIGHER standards than the USDA requires. Not the bare minimum cage, not crappy diets, and we generally only breed with lineage, as well. Do you have lineages on any of your suggies? TheGliderMommie Glider 79 Posts Zak, can I ask you how long you have owned gliders? I will tell you now, I have a good belt of glidery knowledge. I will also tell you right now, that what you are feeding them will eventually lead to their death. Just like us, they need proteins, calcium and fiber. Offering pellets, veggies and fruit alone (with the yogurt) will not be good for them in the long run. If you wish to continue that diet, maybe look into Priscilla's. I feed her diet and it's a little like what you feed. Her diet also has the option of offering pellets, so you don't HAVE to boot those to the curb (though I do suggest using the ones from Exotic Nutrition). You can use the recipe she has up now, or try the old one out, to see if your guys like it. I still use it, I just make four smaller batches, varying the fruits and veggies. thepetglider.com is her website If you're interested in the old recipe, I will link you. Even without her vitamins, on a trial, it would be better than what you are feeding now. :) evenkeelexotics BANNED 17 Posts If you own 3 or more females you need a USDA license and if you sell a sugar glider you need a USDA license. I also did say USDA doesn't hold any high standards, look what you're feeding.. ): How big are your cages? Do your suggies have wheels? Also you ignored my lineage question, thanks. valkyriemome Goofy Gorillatoes USA 3479 Posts
quote:
If you own 3 or more females you need a USDA license and if you sell a sugar glider you need a USDA license. There is no way around it

No, this is not accurate. If you have more than 3 females *in a breeding situation* then you need a USDA license. The license is not required if you sell gliders. If you only have one breeding pair, and you sell their joeys, you do not need a license - nor can you even obtain one. The USDA simply will not give you one! Even if you apply! Because gliders are colony animals, and the males are not used as studs (by any reputable breeder) then females placed in a colony with neutered males are not counted as "breeding females" by the USDA. So - you can have many many gliders, neutered males and females, and only one breeding pair and still not qualify for a USDA license. evenkeelexotics BANNED 17 Posts You're more than welcome to come see all of my gliders and their setups.

DO you have lineages on ANY of them? I don't need to come to MI to see that. Also at what age do you sell the joeys? Also something called a camera can save me a plane ticket, generally.
