Not to mention all the health risks you are posing by getting them all wet. If they get a chill, they will get sick. Hmmmmmmmmmm. Bet you didn't think of that one.

I would like to see the data on that.

When it rains for a few days/nights in a row, they have to get wet to eat.

IT'S INSANE AND CRUEL! HOW BOUT LET ME SOAK YOU AND LOCK YOU IN A TINY LITTLE CLOSET WITH 4 OR 5 OTHER SOAKING WET PEOPLE AND THEN THROW YOUR BUTT IN A TINY CAGE WITH THEM ALL (PEOPLE YOU OBVIOUSLY DONT LIKE) AND MAKE YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE THAT WAY....HOW THE HECK ARE YOU ANY BETTER THAN THE GLIDER????????????

In the wild they have to go FIND the food,in the WILD it isn't simple. What happens in the middle of a torrential downpour a nice big snake, that isn't afraid of the rain, pops into the nice little dry and warm nest?

They run and hide! This is True ignorance! Glider's are NOT stupid very smart actually! They are great at hiding and EXTREMELY quick! And it doesnt make a @#$% what they do in the wild the point here is OUR glider's are NOT nor have they EVER been in the wild and are not in any way used to being forced into a shower for hours on end with no freaking where to hide being forced to be close to gliders they obviously dont want to BE WITH while being deprived of EVERYTHING including food!!

Wild gliders are not quite the same as captive gliders. Wild gliders are used to the elements -- our gliders are not. Big difference, IMO.

But since you brought it up, tell me, would wild gliders have mouthwash put on their cloaca??

No and they wouldn't get neutered either. Is that cruel? Just from a guys point of view I would have to say YES!

Well, may I ask how you'd feel about someone putting mouthwash (which has a tendency to sting) on your private bits? I mean, if it's okay for our pet sugar gliders, hey, why not?

I agree...what exactly does everyone want at this point? Everything is being repeated, well, repeatedly. Maybe people should start talking about what kind of resolution you're waiting for or what you'd like to see happen?

I think that what many (myself included) would like to see is quite simple: for the abuse to stop being promoted, and done. Admittedly, the chances of that happening are slim to none.. but due to the fact that this site is one that newbies frequent, I do think that people need to continue pointing out that this method is extremely cruel.

I understand, but for how many more pages? I honestly don't think anyone new will even read this far into this thread. At this point, everyone is just arguing amongst each other. It is very clear that each side feels very strongly about their feelings about it. This is, without question, not something I plan to promote on here (or anywhere)...and that's probably true for 99% of people. Obviously, I can't speak for everyone.

Okay. Long story short:
Some like it, some don't.
Some think it's animal abuse, others don't.
Some people will use it&& others will stone you if you do use it.
We fight, we nag&& then we get over it... I think this post has been beat to death&& I really think if it shouldn't have been shut down before, it should now.

and kazko isnt promoting this method. he posted it in his journal about how he was able to combine his and Susan's colonies. most people dont even look at the journal or this would have happened sooner. the only reason this is starting is because 2 post were made about it the first one with video didnt start anything but someone said something about it and everybody jumped on and it exploded. soon this journal page wont even be on the home page anymore its best to just let it go and let it get buried so a new owner doesnt see it and try it when they shouldnt.

Apologies, but I don't work that way. I don't see abuse, and just "let it go".

And, by the way, there were more posts.
Ed has made two posts about his experiences with this method, (still shocked at that..)
then there's the one with the videos,
and then this one.

Tell you what.
I'll take the blame. It was all MY idea. I created it years ago as a scheme to someday start a stupid argument over the internet that just. won't. die... It's all my fault&& I take the blame for EVERY bad thing that has EVER been done to a glider. Ever.
So let's all just hate me&& GET OVER IT.

The method is cruel, try other cagemates. I won't repeat others, but I also see Ed calling shipping and breeding cruel... so i really can't agree with much that comes out of your mouth... maybe try to research legitimate intros used with OTHER animals... like how wildlife rehabilitators introduce raccoons.

The method is cruel... and there are people currently looking into getting your 501-3c stripped from you, as cruelty is NOT acceptable.
