Okay Folks - I wanna know how either: #1 Your spouse proposed to you -or- #2 You proposed to your spouse.
I guess I'll start: David proposed several times before I took the bait. I'd been down that road before, and hadn't enjoyed the journey. What really sealed the deal was when he proposed with a flow chart. Anyone who's done any computer programing will be familiar with this, but even if you haven't, it's pretty self-explanatory. I figured any man that understood me well enough to propose via flow chart had a good chance of making it with an oddball like me. Our 23rd anniversary is in two days and I still love him to pieces. Guess I made a good call on that one, huh? Here's the flow chart:
Adorable, isn't it. SO! What's your story ?!?!
kyro298 Glider Sprinkles CO, USA 15262 Posts That is original!! LOL Mine's pretty ordinary. There's a hot springs place we like to go to (or at least we used to-it's so run down now) and we planned to go around my birthday. We get there, check in-this is supposed to be 2 or 3 days, I think. We go into our room, start unpacking some stuff and talking about where to eat. All of a sudden, he started acting really weird. He was pacing and kind of almost acting half drunk. (No alcohol was involved for the record) I kept asking him why he was acting so strange. Finally, he comes over to me, whips out a ring and really fast says something to the effect of how he wanted it to be a romantic weekend and he had all the right things to say planned but didn't know when he would ask me but he just couldn't wait so would I marry him. It was really cute to me because if you knew him, I mean, he could be a motivational speaker for a living! He's a great speaker, salesperson and he always has people wanting him to re-tell stories...he is just never at a loss for words so it was really touching to see him so "weird". That's my big story. We still had a fun weekend. I think he was relieved he had it over with. If he had acted like that all weekend, it probably wouldn't have ended like he wanted. LOL August 23 was our first date 16 years ago and I also have been blessed with my true soulmate. :) cb38506 Glider TX, USA 177 Posts Well I wish i knew the answer to this--Neither Jon nor I ever proposed. It just kinda happened. We just kinda one day we started talking about marriage and 4 months later we were married and now we will celebrate our 2 year anniv on Oct 10th. The real story for us isnt the proposal its the drama to the alter lol. For some reason since the day I met him (july 22nd 2006) everything was a blur from there to here. I do know one day he will do the big proposal and we will renew our vows and have the cermony we never got to have, etc but you know its just meant to be in its own time tisha Goofy Gorillatoes OK, USA 2081 Posts quote: Originally posted by lovely1inred

Rita Glider Sprinkles MO, USA 12214 Posts Love the flow chart, Raven!!! Tell David that was a totally unique proposal and how could any woman say no!!! Alan and I had a very different proposal/marriage, too. We met online in an AOL chat room back in April of 1999. In June of 1999, he e-mailed me a link to "meet" him at 7:00pm. I was not to click on the link until that time. When I clicked on the link, it was a cyber wedding chapel. It first asked me to marry him and when I accepted, it sent us an "Engagement Certificate" and told us to plan a date for our "cyber wedding", which we did. After our "cyber wedding" the site e-mailed us both a cyber wedding certificate! It was really cute and fun! And, of course - not legal!!! We met in person on October 21st,1999. I flew to Seattle from St Louis as Alan had been to St Louis but I had never been to Seattle. We knew we were meant to be together from the first moment we met. We traveled back and forth until May of 2000, when Alan moved to St Louis to be with me. He woke me up about 3:30 one morning (We cant remember the date!) and gave me my engagement ring and officially asked me to marry him. I was to tired to remember much of it. Anyway, we said if we were still together in 5 years, we would get married on October 21st - the anniversary of the day we met in person. We didnt get married until October 21st, 2005 - when we went to Las Vegas and had an Elvis wedding - where we promised to never walk in the rain in our blue suede shoes, to always take care of each others hound dogs and to be each others hunka hunka burnin love. Well, we have had a sometimes rocky relationship since then - but we do love each other and will always be together. Aurelia Joey 21 Posts My husband proposed to me at home. We had just gotten home from a wonderful Christmas party but I were tired. I sat down in the computer chair and he was giving me a shoulder massage. Then he asked if I remembered what he asked the first time he kissed me. I said I did and that he had asked me if I would do him a favor and then he said, "will you do me another favor?" and turned the computer chair around and he was down on one knee and asked if I would marry him :) Our 2 year anniversary is on Aug 18th.
