Well, Flagstaff AZ was snowy and rainy yesterday, but we got little "Dizzy" home safe and sound.
Dizzy is 6 years old and she lost her lifelong cage mate 9-year-old Misty in late January.
She was running on a wodent wheel that was in the (very clean) cage she came in for part of the trip.
The family who transferred her to us was very kind and conscientious - wanting us to find a cage mate for little Dizzy. Turns out the couple who met me half-way from Albuquerque were not the ones who got the gliders to begin with - that was a young man who went off to college. A sad but so typical thing - for a teenager to get a glider and two years later go off to school and leave the animals for mom and dad to take care of. Same thing happened to Makudo and Pete over a year ago - also railroaded from Albuquerque.
Anyway, Dizzy seems to be in good health despite some over-grooming on the top of her head. She reminds us of Bonnie and with any luck we will be able to pair them after quarantine.
Here's a photo of the little one I took with my iPhone in the car yesterday:
