I guess I will use it as an introduction thread too. A few people already know of my presence haha. My name is Edna and I'm 21 years old. I've been lurking on the site for a couple of months and decided to join not to long ago. I spend some time in the evening in the glider chat room. This saturday I will be adopting 3 gliders. I will be a first time owner. One is a 6 year old male and he is fixed. The other 2 are females both 3 years old and daughters to the male.
Anyway I am very curious to how you all have your cages set up. I have a very large cage 33 inches wide 36 inches tall and on the stand it has it comes to 62 inches tall. The bar spacings are a half inch wide.  Anyways I found it on craigslist for 80 bucks. Great deal in my opinion. But it does not have ramps or little side shelves for the Gliders to get up to the top.
I'm sure some of you guys purchased a cage similar to mine and was wondering how you guys modified it so your gliders can get around the cage more easily. I would also like to see what kind of toys and things are placed around the cage so it will help me have a better idea on how to set things up and give me some inspiration.  I would love to see photos and would love tips and or instructions into making shelves and ramps or what you used to modify the cage.

I would love to not have this thread turned into an argument on how everyone should have their cage set up or whose the best or some other silly thing. We should all know every cage will be different and unique.

Megs06 BANNED_ACCOUNT   USA 1 Posts Well the bigger the better. So you may find you want a larger cage. That's what I ended up doing. Here's a pic of my cage and, I think, you can get an idea how it's set up. The cage set itself I change around from time to time to keep them from getting bored, and I move the hanging stuff around. Here's a pic.

Ande89 Starting Member 5 Posts H, I was curious as to where you got their no mess food protector thing. I saw it floating around for sale online. Totally forgot about it lol! Southern Ag I think. They usually have them at most pet stores. Megs06 BANNED_ACCOUNT USA 1 Posts Edna, you can take a tupperware container, flip over (lid is now the floor) and cut a hole into the side. This way in the mornings you can pick up the entire container and wash it and the food dish INSIDE of it. :) Megs06 BANNED_ACCOUNT USA 1 Posts I don't 'flip' mine at all. The food is in a dish on the 'floor' of the container. I reach in and pull the dish out, empty remnants, wash, take 'lid/floor' and the container itself apart, and wash. I'm guessing your glider/gliders are male? Very nice! Wish we'd come here to get ideas on how to decorate ours but we are new to this and have plenty of time to upgrade. BTW, our kitchen is plastic Gladware with a small hole. Much easier to cut and waaay much cheaper than Tupperware.

I've always seen tupperwares with the lid on the bottom so I just assumed lol
