Well we leave tomorrow for her chemo and her spinal tap in Denver on Friday. she is even going to have a MRI done on her knees Friday afternoon to see if the steroids is causing more problems with her knees so we won't be home tell late Friday night. Then next week she heads to Denver so she can get on the bus for Aspen Mountains for her week of fun and to met other kids with cancer. My mom and dad will take her down next week then I will go with my dad on the 18th to go get her off the bus. I am going to be so lost with out her here for a week. But I know she is going to have so much fun though. But when I get up on Saturday I will let you all know how her treatment went and if we found out any thing on her MRI. Tink (Evelyn )
Evelyn, it will do Avis good to be with other kids who understand what she is going thru. Try not to worry about her as Im sure she is in good hands - think of the good time she will have.
Well we are home. I have to call her chemo Dr. on Monday because her MRI was not good at all. They told us to stop the steroids and to call Dr. on Monday. They was talking to use about probably having to replace her knees but won't find out tell Monday what is going on. So I have no idea if the Dr. will let her go on the trip now. I will ask him on Monday when I talk to him. Her chemo and spinal tap went good though. Well I had a long day and I long night because the weather is really bad here. We had icy roads and fog. We almost went off the road because of the ice. But we home safe and sound. I will let you all know what I find out on Monday when I talk to her chemo Dr about her knees. so keep her on your minds and hope that she don't have to have her knees completely replaced. Well Avis is on her way to Denver and tomorrow she will be getting on the bus for Aspen Mountains. I told her when she get's off the bus next Friday I will be there to see her get off. She took a camera with her so she going to take lots of pictures while she is there. I am going to miss her so much this week. But she is going to have so much fun there. I am so sorry to hear about Avis's knees. Poor thing . I am glad to hear that she was able to go on her trip though! She is going to have such a good time. I am sure you will miss her to pieces, but what a great opportunity for her! Can't wait to hear updates.
Oooh, tell her Aspen has some of the most famous/best hot chocolate in the country! There's snow up there right now too so it looks so beautiful. She may just have a celebrity sighting or two as well. I hope she has a blast!
Well I talk to Avis on the phone and she is at the motel. she told me she got to fly in a jet. She has already met some friends. They put her in a suit with 2 other girl and she said her bed is bigger then mine. She went mommy I can get lost in this bed because it is so big and I don't have share it eather lol. Tomorrow she starts her first ski instruction and she is excited about it. I will talk to her tomorrow sometime. She told me she will call everyday and let me know how she is doing and tell me all the stuff she did that day. So I am going look forward to her calls and hear what she did that day. I talk to Avis on the phone last night and she is having a blast. Guess who she got to met there. It was Ryan St.Onge and she raced him on the slopes and she won lol. I kinda think he let her though lol. He even gave her is number so she stay in touch with him. I think that is really nice of him. She played bingo and won alot of neat stuff like couple coats, a bear that she can hook her Ipod to, hats and so on. On Saturday I had a gut feeling to call her and I am glad I did because she fell down the stairs going to her room. She is fine but she was scared. But I call her every night after 10pm to see how her day went and to visit with her. But she is doing really good and having a blast. No word yet from the doctor about her knees yet. Well heard from Dr. Smith and it was not good news. We will have to see anther Dr. on the 2nd after her chemo on her knees. She isn't getting any blood supply to her knees so they said there is a vary good chance for her to get a knee replacement. She is pose to limit what she dose tell we see the other Dr.on the 2nd. That is all I know for now on her knees. I will find out more on the 2nd and I up date what I find out ok. Tink (Evelyn)
Evelyn, it is so good to hear Avis is having a nice time on her trip. I'm sure it has done her some good to be with other children facing the same battle she is fighting.

Well tomorrow at 4am I will be on the road to go get Avis. Today she is have a winter games race day , Bar-B-Q celebration lunch and tonight it is celebration banquet and Awards ceremony. So her last day is going to be busy but fun. I talked to her last night and she is so excited to get home. At nights it is hard for her but I talk to her tell she is about to fell asleep and it helped her out alot. When I get home tomorrow night I will let you know how she looks and all she told me about her week because I know she will be talking my ear off lol. We are all excited to see her and give her hugs. Dad is even missing her alot too. Well Avis is home. She was excited to see me on Friday but tired too. She even got a little tan there too. She is starting to miss her new friends she made but I made her a face book account so she can keep in contacted with the ones that is on there. One of them live in Littleton so she can see that one when are in Littleton and she is excited about that one. I have really nice pic of her when she was there. Hannah was excited to her mommy. she gave her kiss's on the face when she seen Avis.
Avis looks super good. Having friends in far away places is not a bad thing, it's awesome! Now you have to just keep them as friends for ever and then you have someone to go see when you are older. Kudos!
Avis, you are such a pretty girl!!! I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed your trip. And Kazko is go right when he said having friends in far away places isnt a bad thing! Look at all of us here on Glider Gossip. Most of us have never met your Mom, but we consider her a dear friend and love it when she comes here to update us on what is going on in her life.
Avis I'm glad you had fun. Snow skiing is my favorite vacation. This will be the first year in years that I didn't go. So if you could please post some more pic's of the snow and your trip.
Well we are in Littleton for Avis's chemo and spinal tap tomorrow. We will be meeting up with the bone doctor tomorrow afternoon about her knees too. I will let you all know what we find out from the bone doctor but it won't be tell tomorrow night or Saturday when I update ok. Tink (Evelyn)
Well we are home and it was a vary good day for us. She spinal tap and chemo went good but the Dr poked her back 3 times and it bleed really good and vary pain full right now. We didn't see the bone Dr. today, i guess it will be in June when we see him. Ryan St.Onge came to the clinc and ate lunch with us too. He is an awesome man and really neat to be around. Avis looks up to him but he told me that he looks up to Avis because how strong she is. We where visiting and he said when he met Avis it was her smile that melted his heart. I am so glad I got to met him today. We are going to met up with him in June when have to go back for her chemo and spinal tap. He even told us if he comes to Gillette he will contact us so we can get together so he can see Avis. Well i am going to go for now but wanted to let you all know that we home and had a good day.
