I held my miracle niece today, Rita...I'll pray that you'll be holding your grandbabies soon enough and by Christmas, you'll have so many gifts for them and will have already been spoiling them for months, your hubby will let you buy that new Exel cage to store them in!

Shhhhhhh - we wont mention that cage anytime soon around here. It might just "accidently" show up at my doorstep someday, tho!

Update? I have been checking all day! I hope everything is going OK.

I hardly ever get on the general chat, but I saw this thread a few minutes ago. I hope everything is going well for your family. Keep us updated!

They are slowly taking Jess off of the magnesium sulfate and replacing it with another drug of which the name fails me at the moment. The Dr said she didnt think this new drug would work but they HAVE to get her off the magnesium.

Jim said he thought for sure they were going to have the babies last night.

Today is Jess's birthday and it's very possible she could be sharing it with little Harry and Rosie. Jess' Mom and stepdad went over there tonight and took them pizza and a little birthday cake.

Really, other than that, we are still doing the minute by minute waiting game and cant believe she hasnt already had them. Everyday that goes by is a good thing for the babies.

Thanks for the update. I have been going nuts waiting! I am glad to hear that they are still holding out (or in as the case may be ).

Please wish her a happy birthday from us.

I am glad she is still holding on to those little ones I just hope they can get her off that medicine because got to take care of Mommy's health too.

Each minute that goes by is 1 step better for the babies. Just got to get mommy and daddy to hang in there.

Before too long these little ones will be walking and crawling all over the house really keeping them going just got to think positive and let the rest work itself out.

No matter when she has them I hope Mommy and Babies are just fine and Daddy stays the rock he has been for all of them.

You raised a good son there Rita you should be proud of how well he is holding up given the circumstances he is remarkable!!!

Sorry - dont know why Rosie's picture came out so much smaller than Harry's but Im to tired to fix it right now.

Both babies were transferred to Children's Hospital in St Louis less than 2 hours after birth to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. We havent been told yet how long they remain there. They both appear to be alright, but the pediatrician hadnt seen them when I decided to come home. Jess is still at Missouri Baptist where she will remain for 4 days. Im sure this will be very difficult for her not to be able to see the babies, but she had a C-Section and needs her rest to get well.

Jim is SUCH a proud father!!! He went in with Jess and cut the cords on the babies. He came out with footprints of each of the babies on both hands. - smiling from ear to ear. He is totally exhausted after the week they have had.

I will be going back today to either be with Jess or the Babies as Jim cant be in two places at once.

THEY ARE HERE!!! That's one hurdle finished. Now - Im going to bed as Im exhausted, too. I just got home...

More updates sometime tomorrow.

For being born so early they are a lot bigger than I had anticipated and especially since they are twins. I am so glad. My single son was 4Lbs. 6Oz at full term birth. I bet it is so hard for Jess to be away from her babies :( I didn't have to go home with out my son and it breaks my heart to see a mom that has to. Congratulations on the birth of your grandbabies they are beautiful!

Congrats they are beautiful and handsome. Hopefully Jess will heal fast and be able to go see her babies. Still praying for you and your family.

CONGRATS RITA!!! They were born only one day earlier than my birthday!! They are beautiful, I'm so happy for you guys. Fingers are crossed that mommy/daddy/and babies are reunited soon and all is well!!!

Yes, they are bigger than what the Dr said. We were told Harry was 2 1/2 lbs and Rose was 3lbs. This was yesterday after the ultrasound. So it goes to show modern technology cant always be trusted. They did some fattening up this past week with all the steroids!

Jim called Childrens around 5:30am and was told they are doing fine. I am meeting him at his house around noon and we are going to see the babies. Jess didnt get much sleep last night with the nurses checking in on her every 5 minutes - so she is perfectly ok with staying alone for awhile and getting some sleep. She did well thru the night, too.

Now, if we can get Jim to get some rest. He said he is not staying at the hospital anymore - he is just to exhausted.
