CONGRATULATIONS, Grandma! I am glad to see the delivery went OK.

We will pray that the babies grow stronger each day so that they can come home quickly!

And Harry is bigger than Rose! Imagine that! I'm so glad things are stable-that's the best news you can have right now. After 3 days in the hospital, I was ready to go home after a C-section. Rest??? Yeah, right!!! LOL That place is so loud and they bug you every 4 hours. I was lucky enough to have my room next to the nurse's station too. For all you nurses reading this, shut up even if you're bored at 4 in the morning. :)

I hate they arent letting Jess rest, when my sister gave birth a couple weeks ago with another c-section the nurses told her to tell them to just leave her alone when sh wanted to sleep and they wouldnt come in a bug her like they did when she gave birth to my nephew, they came in every 15 mins all night.

I am glad Jim realizes he needs rest he cant be help to anyone if he cant care for himself first. The babies are getting their care, Jess is getting hers so now its time for him to get his.

Our son Kermit spent 9 days in the NICU when he was born.Its amazing the things they can do now. Good luck.You get some rest too Rita

They are so precious!!!!! They need to transfer Jess too, so she can be with her babies. That has to be killing her! It is a blessing that they got here safely. Rita, thanks for sharing this very intimate part of your life with all of us here. I'm not one for sappy but I have tears in my eyes over those grandbabies!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I had one of the most special days of my life today. I got to witness my son interacting with his babies for the first time. It was a very emotional experience for both of us.

Both babies are doing very well. They said there could still be complications, but so far they are fine. They are both in NICU at Children's Hospital in St Louis. They are in incubators as they cant regulate their body temperature yet. They are both breathing on their own but are on oxygen. They have feeding tubes and IV's and monitor wires all over them - but they are doing so much better than we could hope for.

Their are 4 sets of twins in the same unit. One set was born at 33 weeks and the baby boy is having problems. Our babies are 28 weeks, so we feel so blessed....

What can I say. It was a beautiful day spent with my son and my grandbabies.

Jess is still at Missouri Baptist and will remain there until probably Saturday. She had a C-Section and after all the drugs she was on last week, her body really needs a rest and time to heal. She asked for no visitors today so she could sleep. Jim stayed with her last night and until 10:30 this morning when he went home to shower and wait for his Mom (me!) to get there so we could see the babies. When we got there, Jim's Dad, my ex-husband, was there, too. I think it was wonderful that his Dad was there to experience Jim with his new babies. It all tugged at my heart strings and just seemed the way it should be. Bob couldnt stay very long. After he left, Jim broke down and started crying - he was so full of emotion. We were with the babies for about 4 hours and then went to get something to eat and had a nice talk. He is an amazing young man and Im so proud of him.

Awwwwwww - thanks, Kylah! You know how much I LOVE that picture of Puff Daddy and Skitzi!!! It always makes me smile and feel warm and fuzzy.

Rita that is wonderful news! It is so good to hear that they are doing so well. I will keep them in my prayers and thoughts. I can tell you are bursting with pride for your son and grandbabies.

Good for Jess to ask for no visitors. It is so hard with people coming in all the time. I hope she is feeling OK and is getting a lot of much needed rest.

Awe!!!!! I am so happy for you and your son and family! That must be so exciting. I hope things continue to go well. We need pictures of daddy with his babies... you told us of the wonderful bond but I think we would all like to see it also! :)Plus pictures of grandma and babies need to be posted still so you might as well get them all at once! :)

Jim wanted to take some pictures of the babies to take back to Jess. I had his camera and tried to take a picture of him with Harry. The camera was black. Of course, Jim said it was because I pressed the wrong button! BUT his camera battery was dead. I told him no big deal - I had my camera in my purse. Got it out, turned it on - and it went dead!!! TWO cameras with dead batteries!!!! Now we were in trouble as we had promised Jess baby pictures.

You cannot have a cell phone turned on in there, but the nurses made an exception and we both took some with our phones. Mine turned out terrible, but Jim has a blackberry or something, I dont know what it is. He was able to get some pretty good pictures of the babies. He took pictures of them with his hands so he could show Jess how small they are.

As soon as things settle down, he is going to send me all the pictures taken so far. I lack in the photography department...

OK, oddly enough, I didn't post that and have NO idea how that even got there. I haven't looked at that picture in months! As a matter of fact, I was out to dinner at the time that posted. I got back home 20 mins. ago. CREEPY!!!!!

That IS weird - but I still love that picture!!!

Rosie - She is a little jaundiced this evening and will be using a tanning bed.

OH MY GOD! RITA HOW SWEEEEEEET!!! My cousin adopted a 27 week baby girl delivered from a woman with a brain tumor from Tulsa Oklahoma back in 2001. They had taken a pic of the baby grasping my cousins finger and the local paper ran it with their story in the paper. That pic sorta reminds me of that. Rita kiss those sweet lil miracles for all of us!!! Tell them it's from your fellow glider freak friends..LOL

I am so proud for you Rita! I know your son is on cloud nine!!

Rita they are beautiful and your daughter in law should feel so happy what a trooper she was! Congrats!! By the way your son is acting tells me your a great mom so I know your going to be an even greater grandma!!!CONGRATS!!!

Rita those babies are beautiful and they are about the same weight as my grandbabies were. My Hayden was 3'10 ounces and Bethany was 3'5 ounces and they did well and were home in just 3 weeks. I am so glad they were heavier than the doctors thought. Those are good weights and oh they look so beautiful and how wonderful for your son and daughter-in-law. I will continue to keep them in my prayers I am just so happy for you.

Oh Rita give those little babies kisses from us and give Jess and Jim a big ole hug from everyone!! I hope they know that there is a huge community of whacko sugar glider crazed people standing behind them the whole way!!! This post is the first one I come to every time I log on. I haven't had a lot of time to read all the threads lately with work and school but I read this one every chance I get!!
